How to develop attention in a child

While the child is absolutely small, various bright and musical (sounding) objects can hold his attention. They can be babbling, rustling or rattling, with flashing or just luminous lights moving (for example, wind-up cars, dancing or singing animals).

The interior plays an important role in stimulating the attention of the infant. If the baby is constantly surrounded by the same situation, his attention is not trained. Try to change the position of the crib from time to time, so that a different look opens up to the look of the crumbs. If this is difficult to do, you can change the objects surrounding the baby: for example, replace the picture on the wall with a colorful panel. In addition, hang on the bed in front of the baby a variety of bright and sounding toys, change bedding – if it is now monophonic, then let it be in a week, for example, with some interesting pattern.

The development of attention in children, especially up to a year, is greatly influenced by music. In addition, it is one of the most powerful stimulants of the nervous system. Include crumbs from cartoon songs, rhythmic and quiet melodies, as well as classic compositions by Vivaldi, Mozart, Tchaikovsky. However, avoid sad and depressing music. Songs can be not only in Russian. If you plan to teach your child, for example, English, from an early age, include English songs as well.

Attention games for kids
Before we move on to the games themselves, consider some of the rules that parents should follow in class with the child. So:

games on the development of attention should be carried out when the baby has a good mood and well-being, when he is not sleepy and not hungry;
attention is important for the child’s attention concentration, so spend them in a quiet place, without extraneous noise or other distractions;
doing with the baby, be friendly and patient, show enthusiasm and interest;
When giving the child a task, make sure that it is understandable for him, if not, calmly explain.
How to develop attention in a child in 2 – 3 years
At this age, the child has already enough vocabulary, understands a lot, even if not everything can be said and explained. Kids are often distracted, so they need dynamic and vibrant games.

Stand in front of the child at a distance of about 1 meter. Pick up the ball. Explain to the child that he should catch the ball when you say the word for an animal. If the word means a plant (tree, flower), you just need to beat the ball with your hand.
Lay out in front of the child a few drawings of familiar objects. Quickly pick up one of the drawings and hold it in front of your eyes for about three seconds. Then ask what was shown in the picture and ask to describe the subject.
Find several identical items: buttons, small balls, mittens, etc. Fold everything in one box. Let the kid sort out all these things, finding the same items.
How to develop attention in a child of 3 – 4 years
For children of this age category, the emotional involvement of the person who plays with them is important. Therefore, spending games on the development of attention, do not be stingy to express your emotions and encourage the child.

Take a few items familiar to the baby. Let them be first three, for example, a ball, a doll and a cup. The child must first look at them carefully, then turn away. You are at this moment remove any of the items. When the baby turns, it must determine what has changed. You can also swap items. When your child is better able to cope with the task, increase the number of items.
You will need different musical toys: a whistle, a pipe, a mini-piano, a drum, etc. The child must turn away, and you at this time play one of the instruments. Let the kid guess what exactly it sounds. You can also add other sounds, such as the rustling of paper, the sound of a spoon in a glass.
Find bright colorful pictures, for example, from children’s magazines or books. Ask the child to look closely at the drawing and describe what he sees. Let the kid try to tell in more detail, in detail. Give him a task: let him find in the figure some small detail that is not located in the center and does not catch the eye (this may be a drop on a leaflet or a small butterfly on a flower).
How to develop attention in a child in 5 – 6 years
For this age group of children, you can use previous games to develop attention, as well as complicate tasks a little.

Walking with the child in the park, visiting the store or other places, ask him to look closely to what he sees around. Let the kid notice different details: the color of the shops, the number of steps on the stairs, etc.
Fold various objects into the bag: buttons, small toys, cubes, a spoon, a little book, etc. The child should put his hand in the bag and determine by touch the object that he will fall.
